Are Bacati products really 100% cotton?

Yes — every Bacati bedding piece is 100% cotton, either percale or muslin. We do not use blends, synthetics, or polyester filling. Our decor pieces (storage, mobiles, toy chests) use cotton exteriors with safety-tested structural materials.

Yes. Every Bacati product is independently SBS tested and CPSC compliant — meeting the highest US safety standards for nursery products. We use azo-free dyes and are subject to ongoing third-party verification.

Will the colors fade over time?

When washed cold and tumble dried low, colors stay vibrant for years. We use azo-free, colorfast dyes selected to withstand frequent washing.

How should I wash my Bacati bedding?

Cotton may shrink up to 3% on first wash — this is normal. Our pieces are pre-sized to maintain fit after the first wash.

Are decorative pillows safe in the crib?

Per AAP and CPSC guidance, the only items that should be in a crib while baby sleeps are a fitted sheet and the baby. Bumpers, pillows, and blankets are decorative and should be removed before sleep.

Bacati is a family-run nursery brand founded in 1998 by Deepak after his newborn son had skin reactions to standard bedding. The name combines his parents' names — "BAchomal" and "KalawATI" — a tribute woven into everything we make.
